Top 10 Most Racist Commercials

•May 26, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I haven’t done a Top 10 Tuesday in quite some time. Today I ran across a site that had a top 10 list of racist commercials (for the complete list visit – click here). I am not going to list all, but some of these I just had to shake my head and laugh. Being a person with a diverse group of friends, sometimes you run across ignorance that leaves you speechless…

——————————–

“…it influences small children to be afraid of black people.  And snakes.”

——————————–

This gets one of those wtf awards. Yes he climbed that pole like a monkey, put the balloon in his mouth like a banana, then turned into black toothpaste.

——————————–

This one isn’t on the top 10 list, but gets another wtf
award.

——————————–

“Whooo Chinese baby. He unable to tell if this jello is strawberry, raspberry, cherry, orange, lemon, lime, apple, black raspberry, black cherry or grape.”

——————————–

So this is how white girls do laundry? No comment…lol

——————————–

Heck, while we are on racism one more for the road. Not a commercial, but a clip where Bugs temporarily lost his mind.

Michael Eric Dyson vs. Andrew Breitbart on Bill Maher Show

•March 15, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I am not a fan of Bill Maher whatsoever, but check these clips out. At least listen to the first one. I find it hilarious how uncomfortable Andrew became (fidgeting in his chair, continually trying to spit subtle snide remarks) when Michael responded with all his “mf’ing articulate-nish”…lol.

But in the meantime, what better way to spend a Friday at work than watching Bird punch Laimbeer in the face. Now I was never really a Bird fan. I guess you could call me somewhat of a Bird hater. I even wanted MJ to beat him on the McDonald’s commercials. In any case, I disliked Bill more. About 45 secs in it starts to get good. This was some classic bball!

The Luther Burger

•March 6, 2009 • 1 Comment

luther_bigI located this site called TexasBurgerGuy.com which reviews hamburgers. I thought this heartattack waiting to happen was unique. It is called The Luther Burger – a bacon cheeseburger served on a Krispy Kreme bun. Are we (Americans) fat bastards or what?

PURPLEBLAZER 2009 RATING SYSTEM
* * * * * = excellent movie (close to entertainment perfection)
* * * * = very good movie
* * * = eh…not the worst, but by no means the best
* * = pretty darn bad
* = awful (can’t believe someone approved this movie’s budget)

——————————————

Soul Men ( 2008 )
sm
Starring: Samuel L. Jackson, Bernie Mac
Theatrical Rating: R
PB Review: ( * * .5 ) - Better than I expected, but excessive profanity. I think it took away from the plot. Gave a .5 star in memory of B. Mac.

———————

Gospel Hill ( 2008 )
gh
Starring: Danny Glover, Angela Bassett, Julia Stiles
Theatrical Rating: PG13
PB Review: ( * .5 ) - Small town, racially motivated murder. Could have been better, but there was just nothing there. Movie was awful.

———————

Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist ( 2008 )
nanip
Starring: Michael Cera, Kat Dennings
Theatrical Rating: PG13
PB Review: ( * * ) - Two teens in bad relationships find each other and spend the night looking for a secret concert. Parts were humorous.
